Shadows Across the Path

Over the past few years, I have been drawn to scenes like this one; a road or path leading off some place. I wonder if it has some deep psychological meaning, maybe representing some inner struggle of mine. More than likely it doesn't though, and I just like the inviting way it feels: a path leading into the woods and on to new neat things to see.

Wow, this painting turned out great! Such a large piece... it would look fantastic as a focal point in any room. Relaxing colors. I'll have to let Scott George know you have it on your blog. :)

It's simple really, the path leading off and turning out of sight is the basis for the design of Frederick Olmstead's parks - Durand, Genesee Valley Park, Thompson Park in Watertown, Delaware Park in Buffalo, Niagara Falls state park and of course, Central Park. The mind wants to see what's around the corner, take in the new view and discover what's hidden. As for really deep psychological meanings, consult your shrink.
